It has been a long time coming but Capla Rock was our first winner on Thursday.
Capla Rock had shown a lot of promise on debut finishing 3rd in a good looking maiden at Nottingham. However on her second start, also at Nottingham, soft ground caused her to run a very disappointing race.
On Thursday Capla Rock lined up again in a maiden at Nottingham with the talented Antonio Fresu booked to ride. There were a few horses with good racing experience in the race and as a result, Capla Rock was very weak in the market before the off.
She broke well from the stalls and settled in behind the leading group. She raced towards the middle of the track and Antonio did a fantastic job to keep her covered up well into the final two furlongs. At the final furlong pole Antonio pulled her out to make her move, she quickened smartly and put the race to bed eventually winning by 11/2 lengths.
It was a great result for the syndicate to get off the mark with a winner and hopefully, the next one won't be too far away. Our thanks go to the whole team at Marco Botti racing for their hard work to get us this first win.
