Warsaw road has been very unlucky this year facing a couple of setbacks that have meant we haven't seen the best of him. He went into the race at Chelmsford on the back of a decent reappearance, after injury, at Ascot and was a 5/1 shot to win on the day. It was the first time Robert Winston had ridden Warsaw Road but the pair seemed to get on like a house on fire!
He broke well, from a tricky stalls position, and managed to hang on to a place on the rail. Robert kept him just behind the leaders all the way around. Off the final bend, a gap opened up for him on the rail and he kicked away to win eased down.
It was a great day for his owners and the syndicate as he is a horse we have always thought will win plenty of races and hopefully, we will be seeing him in the winners circle a lot more often.
