It was another fantastic day for the syndicate on Friday at York, with Copper Knight taking the spoils in the Parsonage Hotel And Cloisters Spa Handicap. Copper Knight had struggled since his early season win in the Gosforth Park at Newcastle and was due a good performance. Conditions were in his favour on Friday with the going on the slower side of good. Tim Easterby was represented by 5 horses in the race so it was always going to be a competitive race and being the top horse in the yard would be difficult not only winning the race.
Copper Knight didn't break from the stalls with his usual bounce as he was one of the first horses in the stalls and it took a while to load the rest. There was a ferocious pace set in the early part of the race and Copper Knight couldn't settle as he usually does. Dave Allan got to work early quite early and Copper Knight responded well hitting in the front in a matter of strides. He won the race eased down, in the end. It was great to see him back to form and at such a big track, let's hope it is the start of a strong finish to the season for our horses.
