It appears nobody told Copper Knight that the flat season has finished! On Wednesday he notched up his third win of the season under Paul Hanagan at Nottingham.
It was a very Autumnal day on Wednesday at Nottingham. The going was good to soft prior to racing but steady showers throughout the afternoon ensured that by race time the going was officially soft. It was a fairly strong contest considering only 7 runners lined up with the very talented Flying Pursuits and the progressive Kick On Kick On heading the market. Copper knight came into the race in great form and conditions looked favourable for him to run a good race.
Copper Knight jumped well from the stalls and settled in behind stablemate Flying Pursuits. He travelled strongly through the race and needed a bit of luck for a gap to open. When the gap came he burst through to join Teruntum Star at the at the front. He battled with Kevin Ryan's runner in the final furlong and ended up 3/4 of length winner. This was the highest rating (97) that Copper Knight had ever won off and looks set to have mark well into the 100's for his next start.
It was an honour for the syndicate to have the prize to be presented by Lady Cecil whom the race was named after. This caps another fantastic season for our little sprinter who has posted his best performance yet, we are already looking forward to next season!
